Today ICANN released a number of summaries and analyses of public comment on the previous version of the Applicant Guidebook and on other previously published New gTLD Program papers.
In addition, ICANN announced the publication of two new papers. One focused on defensive registrations and registrant behavior and the other addressing the need for a process to evaluate proposed amendments that may have the effect of changing the charter or purpose of a community-based TLD.
ICANN stated that an updated version of the Guidebook would be released April 14th and that it would incorporate updates based on: public comment, ongoing consultations, and changes resulting from the Board-GAC consultations and from community discussions in San Francisco.
It is unclear whether this version will be open for public comment.
